Li Shi (Sebastian) was a PKU student in 1990s. He began to learn theatre acting and directing with Joseph Graves in 2006. He is now theatre producer of PKU Institute of World Theatre and Film. He has produced Julius Caesar, Einstein's Dreams, Shakespeare on Love, My Fair Lady, The Monkey King, Man's Best Friend and Revel's World of Shakespeare in recent years. He is also a diversified actor who has played various roles in Medusa's Tale, Big Sur, The Tempest, Persephone Underground, King Lear, Into the Numbers, Shakespeare on Love, Scrooge's New Year, My Fair Lady, The Monkey King, Man's Best Friend and Galileo.
Andrew Delo is a lecturer at Peking University, where he serves as an artistic associate of the Peking University Institute of World Theatre and Film, and director of The Future Dance Ensemble. Originally from New York, he earned a BFA in Dance Performance from the University at Buffalo, and is in pursuit of his MFA in Dance Choreography. Mr. Delo spent many years performing across the North American continent. Some of his most memorable roles include Berger in Hair, The Specialist in The Who’s Tommy, Annas in ;Jesus Christ Superstar, Magaldi in Evita, and as a soloist in the Western New York premiere of Bernstein’s Mass. He spent time at sea, as a dancer on Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas, and has performed for a host of dignitaries, including former President Ronald Reagan, and a diplomatic cohort from Poland. His choreography has been seen coast to coast, in casinos, music theatre, dance company work, and as a Guest Artist at the University of Northern Colorado. His inspired work helped the Chicago production of Naked Boys Singing at the Bailiwick Arts Center to run for 5 years of sold-out performances.
Since moving to Beijing, he has choreographed the Peking University productions of My Fair Lady and Spring Awakening, the Beijing Academy of Contemporary Music’s production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, and founded and directs The Future Dance Ensemble. Mr. Delo recently was awarded “Best Director” and “Best Production” of the Beijing International New Short Play Festival for his work on the musical Rent a White Guy, which featured FDE members Moeko Mitake, Cliff Chang, and Toshihiro Kawamata. He teaches acting at Clever Kids, a children’s theatre school, and is a faculty member at Pussycat Dance Studio, where he offers classes in Music Theatre Jazz Dance and Contemporary Dance. He recently directed a song and dance group for 欢乐合唱团 , a reality show in the style of Glee, for South East TV. He is working closely with the Migrant Children Foundation, developing a dance curriculum and training the teachers in performing arts education for children. Most recently, Mr. Delo has begun work as the choreographer for the 2011 Soojin Dance Team, a professional cheerleading organization. He serves as choreographer and judge on the CCTV5 Tsing Tao Beer Cheerleading Competition. He has had the pleasure of representing the NBA and the CBA at the 2011 Asian Basketball Competition in Wuhan, choreographing the dance team for this national event.
Though Mr. Delo enjoys performing, directing, and choreographing, his first love is The Future Dance Ensemble, which, in a short amount of time, has become his family. He wishes to acknowledge the constant presence of Eugenia Smith, his first dance teacher, who inspires him every day from heaven. XIAOQING HU is a theatre director and playwright and was based in U.S. and Beijing in the past seven years. She wrote and directed THE MAGIC LOTUS LANTERN and MONKEY KING for Texas Shakespeare Festival's 2008 and 2006 season, and THE LAND OF THE DRAGON for Arkansas Repertory Theatre's 2006 AIE tour. Her other directing credits include: INANNA (Beijing Fengmaniu Festival), MAMMA MIA! (Chinese version, national tour), CYCLE OF TRAPS (Penghao Theatre), THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE (Beijing Fringe Festival), REVEL'S WORLD OF SHAKESPEARE (Beijing One-man Show International Festival), INTO THE NUMBERS (Beijing Fringe Festival) and ONE NINTH (Arkansas Repertory Theatre). In 2008, she directed her own English translation of the Chinese play, THE WILD WIND, while a guest director at Wittenberg University in Ohio. She has also assistant-directed the world-renowned musical, LES MISERABLE at Arkansas Repertory Theatre. Xiaoqing graduated with honors in 2004 from Peking University, Beijing China with dual B.A. in English Language and Literature, and Art. She is a M.A. director candidate at Central Academy of Drama.
