Craig MacDonald
Craig MacDonald has taught acting, scene study and mask for the actor in the Department of Drama at Syracuse University since 1997. An actor for more than 25 years, he has performed in more than 150 professional productions on dozens of stages from Off Broadway to regional theaters to regional tours across the country, as well as on camera for television and film. He was trained at the Conservatory at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University (M.F.A.) His B.F.A. in acting and directing was earned at Ithaca College. He has also studied at the Warren Robertson Studio in New York and the DellArte School of Physical Comedy in Blue Lake, California.
Professor MacDonald is a master teacher of the Meisner system of exercises, and has developed a cycle of text analysis exercises for the stage to complement the Meisner series. Along with SU Drama Professor Elizabeth Ingram, he recently helped negotiate the program linking Syracuse University's drama department and the Department of International Programs Abroad with the Shakespeare Globe Theatre of Bankside, London.
