On the morning of August 27, 2025, Mian Imran Masood, Vice Chancellor of University of South Asia and Former Punjab Minister of Higher Education Department of Pakistan, led a 12-member Pakistan Media and Think Tank Delegation to visit Peking University. They held an exchange discussion with faculty and students of Peking University on topics such as China-Pakistan Cultural Exchange and Cooperation at the Lin Hu Xuan meeting room.
Participants from the Chinese side included Prof. Tang Mengsheng, Founding Director of the Pakistan Studies Centre; Prof. Han Hua from the School of International Studies; Associate Prof. Zhang Jiamei, Deputy Director of the Department of South Asian Studies and Director of the Pakistan Studies Centre; Dr. Zhang Yabing, Head of the Urdu Language Teaching and Research Section; accompanying personnel from the China Public Diplomacy Association; and undergraduate student representatives from the Urdu Language major.


Chinese and Pakistani Participants
Associate Prof. Zhang Jiamei chaired the discussion and welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Chinese participants. After mutual introductions, the two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as the advanced development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), China-Pakistan Cultural Exchange, research collaboration, and student exchange programs.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Mian Imran Masood, on behalf of the Pakistani side, reiterated the nationwide support in Pakistan for the CPEC construction. He said, "The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the lifeline of Pakistan." Regarding youth exchange between the two countries, he stated that youth are the future of the nation and expressed hope that young people from both countries would have more opportunities for exchange, contributing to the development of both nations and deepening China-Pakistan friendship.
