Profile
Born in January 1979. Received a BA in 2001, an MA in 2004, and a Ph.D. in 2012, all in arts from Peking University. Was a visiting scholar at Princeton University in 2019. Currently serves as the deputy head of the Department of South Asian Studies, School of Foreign Languages; Director of the Pakistan Studies Center; and part-time researcher at the Center for Eastern Literature Studies. Main research areas include South Asian history and religious cultures, Urdu language and literature etc. Currently leads several research projects under the National Social Science Fund and the Ministry of Education. Has directed or participated in multiple completed research projects and published several academic papers on South Asian religious cultures, language, and literature.
